When Nic from Westlakes Hemp contacted PixelDrift she was knee-deep in formulating her new range of CBD-infused bubble baths whilst trying to juggle several logistical minefields. She had a fantastic product and knew what she didn’t want but with her time occupied with lab testing and the essential regulation requirements it was left to us to take her passionate and science-fuelled description for her new product (including package design) and give it the right visual presence.
Wanting to completely sidestep the usual stereotypical imagery, Nic wanted to change peoples preconceptions about CBD whilst still retaining a hint of the source material. Most of all, she wanted the graphics and style to be bright and carefree – attributes that her products inherently promote. Taking this into account, we took inspiration from a time that was not only deeply linked to the products star ingredient but an era that was as relaxed as it was innovative – the 1970’s.
The Westlakes Hemp team was taken with the concept from the get-go and, after a few tweaks and arrangement of content, Budsuds had its new identity that is not only loved by its existing clientele but is also engaging and accessible to a potential new audience.
